Freda was born on Ivanhoe Station, Western Australia, around
1939. Her parents worked on Durack Station where Freda would
help with looking after the goats and gardens
Around 1950 Freda returned to Ivanhoe Station, where she married
George Wilson and lived for many years with their six
children. After the closure of Ivanhoe Station, Freda moved
to Wyndham where she worked at the Six Mile Pub as a cleaner
Freda and her family remained in Wyndham for seven years until
Kununurra was first built. She has been painting for the past
thirteen years. Freda now lives at Emu Creek with her twenty
grandchildren.
